Buen Pastor is a thriving school located in the middle of the capital
city of Managua. Starting as just a pre-school in 1995
under the name of "Pastorcito" or Little Shepherd, as the school grew to
include older students, the name changed to El Buen Pastor in 2001.
The church and school share the same mission: to reach and prepare souls
of children and parents. For this, the school has a strong
evangelism program to the parents - for their child to attend the school,
they must go to occassional meetings where the gospel is presented.
Many people have been added to the church by this.
The area in which the school is located is well known for its parade
floats created for independence day celebrations. The school has a
very stong, positive reputation in its community.
When asked what makes this school special, the school director
responded, "The Grace of God! It is like a family here. Even
though it may look like a poor school, the students desire to be here."
