El Jordán
school
began as an
elementary school in a tight building in the middle of the city of
Boaco. In only three years
it was able to open a full high school!
Unable to house all these students, a second campus was developed
in a semi-rural area outside town to which the older students are bussed
every day.
El Jordán produces quality alumni – many of which are business
professionals now who are still proud of their school!
In 2009 the school was given the distinction of having the 10th
grade student of the year from the whole region.
They have won awards in Science, Math, Spanish, and Composition.
The community is poor and many of the students are the first of their
family to receive an education.
It is the goal of the school to reach out to such students to
teach them both the skills to succeed in life as well as create a strong
spiritual foundation in them.
